"She is exactly our kind of girl. This album is excellent, I thoroughly recommend it... If you like Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and all that kind of DIY, slightly jazz hands but also a little bit punk, it is for you. You must check the record out, really love that one" Lauren Laverne, BBC Radio 6 Music
"Really blew me away, think it sounds absolutely beautiful" John Kennedy, Radio Xfm
"Really varied mix of beautiful lush harmonies and delicate production" Charlie Ashcroft, Amazing Radio
Bold and brave decisions change everything...
Becca Lovelace is the Art Child of London based Art pop/indie musician, Becca Whitbread. The project was born on a psychedelic sunrise overlooking the Nevada desert, playing on a bus called ‘The Dodo’ and improvising vocals for hours with a full band of pirates. It was in this moment that she realised the scope of her voice and musical universe and has been releasing music since 2013.
Her debut album ‘Lands’ released in 2016, was a favourite of Lauren Laverne on her 6Music show and garnered copious rave reviews from Hype Machine blogs, plus support from Amazing Radio, BBC Introducing and Radio X.
Hailing from Devon but now a Londoner with stints in San Francisco and Berlin, Becca plays in London with a full band, including 3 eclectic backing vocalists.
Upcoming album ''We Wanna Be There' is raw, dynamic and about that innate sense of freedom, the solo kind, that connects us to our true sense of self. It reflects on sexual encounters, bad trips turned good and the unconscious rituals we hold with us from childhood. The record is joyful, hopeful, sexy and distinctive.
